Pneumatic carton closing staplers can provide a bit heavier gauge staples to yield more SURFACE AREA with a more Ribbon Style wire flattening process. Such is the case with these two tools. The smaller 34L.18 gives you this full 16 gauge wire staple as opposed to 16.5 gauge and has a 5/8" and 3/4" leg length design while this 34L.22 longer version drives the same staple wire...but UP to 7/8" with 3/4" capability thrown in for good measure.
